The board of the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria (KBFN) and the martial arts community in Nigeria has shown gratitude International Olympic Committee has certified Kickboxing as an Olympic sport in Nigeria.
The mood has not remained the same for the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria (KBFN) and martial art at large over the recognition.
Certification of the sport is a very good development for the acceptance and growth of kickboxing in Nigeria because it’s no more news that Nigerians are naturally built and gifted for any physical and combat sports.
CSP Yakubu Confidently assured that Nigeria will take advantage of kickboxing been a multi-medal sport.
The major aim of the federation is to work towards the development of kickboxing in Nigeria, through awareness creation, frequent and adequate sports competitions to inspire others who will want to participate in the sports.
Kamara Usman has also made it known how restless he has been in order to see more Nigerian youngsters partake in martial art and actualizing his dream of building a sustainable sports culture in the country.
“Two Nigerians with Two different belts are better than one Nigeria with two belts,” He said.
Abubakar Yakubu went on to laud the huge support of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, and minister of sports Sunday Dare to the development of Kickboxing in the country.
Also, he acknowledged the contributions of various State government Stat directors of sports, official coaches, and athletes in the recurring growth of kickboxing.
