Edo Tops Kickboxing Medal Table with 31 Medals

Edo has emerged the overall winner of the kickboxing event Edo 2020 festival.

Event of 139 medals, made up of 36 Gold’s, 36 Slithers, and 67 Bronze was rounded up last night with a total number of 15 State appearing in the overall medal table.

Edo topped the table with 16 Gold, 8 Silver, and 7 Bronze medals while Delta placed second with 7 Gold, 11 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals, Bayelsa came third with 5 Gold, 4 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, Akwa Ibom fourth with 4 Gold, 4 Silver, and 8 Bronze medals.

Imo emerged fifth with 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals while Lagos followed with 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals.

Moving forward, Kano placed Seventh with 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals while Rivers had 4 Bronze and 4 Silver as eight positions.

Cross Rivers came Ninth with one Silver and Two Bronze while Oyo State took the tenth position with seven Bronze medals.

Anambra State had just five Bronze medals to place 11th, followed by Ondo with three Bronze medals as 12th position while Abia and Kaduna State with two Bronze medals each to place joint 13th positions.

The report has it that FCT and Ogun State also came last on the table with each having just a Bronze medal.

Gov Godwin Obaseki was full of commendation, insisting that Edo 2020 has rekindled the true spirit of sportsmanship even though it lasted for 13 days.
